Africa Tech

The Young Shareholders Stock Exchange Committee was created at the start of 2021. It was built around observations shared by its members and a growing number of news relating to innovation in Africa.

The importance of science and technology has grown over the years because of its crucial role in fostering economic growth and development.

Today, Africa has the largest population of young people in the world. Yet technological innovation is largely driven by a motivated young generation. Projections show that by 2035, sub-Saharan Africa's labor force will exceed that of the rest of the world. The implications of this demographic advantage are considerable.

While the rest of the world will face an aging workforce, Africa will be young. Thus, the region has great potential to improve its economies if it can produce a generation of young, creative and motivated professionals. The promotion of Science and Technology is important to nurture a skill set that is essential for students around the world.

A workforce with the necessary skills for innovation, collaboration and critical thinking is necessary for every nation to achieve sustainable development. Although Africa is home to nearly 17% of the world's population, its scientific, technological, engineering and mathematical capacities lag behind the rest of the world.

Education in science and technology is a critical engine to help growing economies compete in the global marketplace, create jobs (especially jobs in science), and increase wealth. Despite lagging behind other regions in science, Africa has great untapped potential to transform the economic world thanks to its unique demographic position, and African schools represent a significant part of this potential.

This is why the Africa Tech committee is committed to offering as many people as possible a rigorous and popularized analysis of current events in order to federate a community of enthusiasts, able to understand the technical and strategic decisions of innovation in Africa. The Committee will relay the African initiatives led by its youth and which will make our daily lives tomorrow.
